Frequently asked questions
If FixMate cannot resolve the issue — because it's outside our service scope, requires a specialist we don't cover, or is a structural/landlord issue not covered in our terms — the call-out fee is fully refunded. See our refund policy.
If our engineer correctly diagnoses the problem and provides a fair quote, but you choose not to proceed, the call-out fee is non-refundable — it covers the engineer's time and travel to your property.
Labour is calculated from the engineer's clock-in and clock-out times, billed in 15-minute increments (e.g. 1 hour 15 min = £125). You'll see a full itemised breakdown after the job.
After diagnosing the issue, the engineer will quote for any materials needed. You approve the materials cost before any work begins. Parts are charged at cost plus a small margin.
You pay the £150 call-out fee at booking. Labour is charged after the job, based on time on site. Materials are added if applicable. All charges are shown clearly before work starts.
